Just as an update – Nuclear Summer are actually going to be down here in Sydney while we’re in their usual habitat of Brisbane, so they won’t be playing at the 4ZZZ show on Sunday the 20th. But happily we’ll cross paths with them in Lismore:

Despite the flooding in Queensland, our Brisbane/Lismore tour is going ahead as planned.
Our first show in Brisbania is at Sun Distortion Stud’yo, Albion. with:
the incredibly good QUIET STEPS
myth-referencing garage-glitter-punk extravaganza PASTEL BLAZE
PLUM’s first show
and indie/post-hardcore kids INSIDE THE WHALE.

The second show is at the 4ZZZ Carpark in the Valley. It contains:
the apocalyptic goodness of NUCLEAR SUMMER
spiky pop two-piece TINY SPIDERS
and TANGLE whose ingredients have been in Drowned Out, Eucalypt, Harriet, and several other excellent bands we’ve played with.

Wow. From where I’m sitting these look to be some of the best line-ups we’ve ever been included in, anywhere. Exciting times!
We’re also putting a bit of thought into producing a Brisbane tour CD-R with live tracks, new stuff, remixes, and other surprises/”rarities”. If it comes together in time these will be extremely limited edition, and we’re thinking we should put half the proceeds towards local charities/reconstruction efforts.
In a few hours we’re playing with Simo Soo and we have another eight shows booked in the next six weeks, so I’m sure we’ll see you sometime!

In other news, we have three shows coming up at the end of January – we are I guess particularly stoked about this because they’re all quite different venues in different parts of town with quite different bands. Hell yes!

It’s our great pleasure to announce that we’re making our first trip north to Brisbane and Lismore, to play with some truly amazing Brisbane bands! The details are yet to be worked out fully, but you can see two of the dates in the upcoming shows on the right. SICK! RAD! etc.
Brisbane in February is going to be fully tropical, can’t wait!

The Unto Dust EP got a pretty sweet review in this month’s Blunt Magazine! I grew up reading this magazine nigh on every month so I’m pretty stoked. It has glossy pages and you can buy it in newsagents. We got three and a half stars and a nice write up, including this sentence:
If you prefer living room shows to sold out cricket stadiums and flawed beauty to over-polished perfection, Intentions deliver six quick stabs of old-timey emo goodness that are sure to satisfy your craving for some genuine sentiment.
I am even now cutting this out for my scrapbook.
